Rare Auto ALPA 1.8/55 made by ASHAI KOGAKU (Pentax)

Asahi Kogaku made Auto Alpas are relatively scarce. They were meant for the quality substitute for Kern, Angénieux and other lenses and sold with Autobags fixed.

This 55/1.8 lens is a SMC Takmar 55/1.8 in disguise and the serial number starts from 185501 or 185511. The production must have been very low. It is doubtful if other Auto Alpas were ever made by Ashai.
