Most Auto-ALPAs were made by Chinon for the Si2000 ALPA. At one time in early '80s, a good number of Auto ALPAs were sold in a discount camera store in Tokyo at a close-out price.

It might have been that Pignon S.A. ordered Chinon a batch of lenses and cancelled.
