| The "Twins" Spectros
Alrorar 3.5/50 (aloram) and Old Delft Alfinon 2.8/50 (finom) |
| Not many details are known about Spectros
lenses, which arrived at the Alpa factory in Ballaigues in 1953..
They were made in Basel, Switzerland and labeled "Sysetm Old
Delft". Most probably the Alorar 3.5/50 was assembled by Spectros
with 2nd choice Dutch Alfinon elements. To hide the lower quality,
the aperture was reduced from 2.8 to 3.5. |

This collapsible Spectros
Alorar shows that the second generation Alpas could be fittet with
collapsible lenses. Thus equipped, it was a very compact SLR. It
was not necessary to put the mirror up, the mirror of the second
generation could stand the pressure of a collapsible lens. |
